| Anna's
House has been designed specially for people with Alzheimer's
disease and related memory impairments. We took special care
in planning everything from the layout to the lighting.
This special
care unit is a secure wing that enables safe wandering and
maximizes independence. The layout is simple and uncomplicated,
so residents can easily find their way. We can adjust lighting
levels to minimize confusing shadows and glare, which may
lead to agitation for people with Alzheimer's disease.
Anna's
House becomes home for residents, so we make it as cozy and
comfortable as possible.Residents' rooms are fully furnished,
but we encourage residents and families to bring a favorite
piece of furniture or personal treasures from home to give
the room extra warmth and familiarity. The lounge area offers
a place for visiting, talking and sharing with friends. The
large dining room table and eating area provide space for
enjoying the day's activities or sharing a meal with other
residents. Residents can also enjoy the outside, fenced in
courtyard if they enjoy fresh air and sunshine.
When someone
in your family has Alzheimer's disease, everyone is affected.
And as the disease progresses, the burden on the family can
become greater both physically and emotionally.
We want
and encourage your involvement. Nobody understands the needs
and life story of your family member better than you do. Your
involvement is important and valuable in establishing a plan
of care. It is important that we understand and continue the
routines of home, and learn about your family member's hobbies,
likes and dislikes.
Placing
a family member in a nursing facility is never easy, but we
understand the unique hardships this devastating illness can
cause. Until they find a cure, we will provide the highest
quality care and treatment for our residents, throughout all
stages of the disease.
We have
had the privilege of caring for others with this disease.
We would like the opportunity to help you as well.
